FASSW is able to provide exclusive and vital representation in areas that will keep the Florida school social work profession an "active player" providing input on changes in educational and social work trends and policies.
Did you know, on average, membership dues account for more than half of FASSW's total income? It is important that FASSW be provided with a stable and predictable income source. Membership dues are the lifeline of funding for our association's operations. It makes services to our members possible.
For the dues you pay, FASSW
- provides an annual conference of the SSW profession,
- Co-sponsors the state's School Attendance Symposium,
- Educates the public on professional practice matters, accountability, and legislative issues,
- Sets professional work standards aiming to enhance services to school children,
- Distributes school social work information and research to businesses and governmental agencies, and
- Provides representation at state, regional, and national SSW organizations, and other student services advisory groups and councils

a dues statement from FASSW is not just "another expense." Rather,

FASSW
and SSWAA Team Up to Offer Savings
FASSW and the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) have teamed
up to offer FASSW members the chance join both associations for
$90.00, a savings of $35.00!
Currently SSWAA dues are $75 and FASSW dues are $50. If you are already
a member of SSWAA, your current membership will be extended 12 additional
months when you join FASSW.
FASSW works for you at the state level and provides many services (quarterly
newsletter, website updates and links, legislative advocacy, annual state
conference, and professional development [CEU's], co-sponsorship of attendance
symposium with DOE).
SSWAA covers school social work at the national level. SSWAA is the only
provider of national school social work conferences. SSWAA has a government
relations person in Washington, DC. Additional SSWAA benefits: Internet
resources; monthly hard copy newsletter; reduced registration fee at SSWAA
National School Social; Work Conference for SSWAA members; weekly electronic
newsletter, annual summer meeting in DC open on all SSWAA members; School
Social Work-Ensuring Student Success, a new great looking resource to
highlight school social work services.
